Sarah Yost on the Editorial Mentorship Experience

Working with Matt was helpful because he engaged with my work carefully and pushed me to improve my poem in ways that I hadn't considered. He identified areas where I could go deeper with my images and engage my readers from multiple perspectives. He also helped me identify where I had an abrupt shift that I was able to then craft into a smoother, more intentional transition. It was valuable to be able to discuss my work and reconsider some of my choices to make my poem stronger and more clear. I enjoyed the process and am grateful to Matt for his help.
