nobody remembers the birdman

Poetry by Timothy Fox

granny says he lived two doors down where the empty lot is

be quiet says the nurse stop that fuss

but granny points a crooked finger toward the window
he’s out there carrying his house on his back
feathers falling from beneath his coat
