The John Carroll’s Young Writer's Workshop was such a wonderful experience for me. I very much enjoyed the positive leadership and input the writers and the instructors provided. I looked forward to going every day, to write new stories, getting to know my peers and learning new perspectives and ideas. It was very enjoyable to write poetry in the morning and fiction in the afternoon, then come together in our groups to receive feedback on ways to improve our writing. I have made so many new friends and contacts from the workshop, many of which I still talk to and share stories.
Dr. Philip Metres is an amazing instructor and role model. He shared his extensive knowledge and insight into writing, motivating us all to dig deep within ourselves to put out our best work. I look forward to continuing developing my writing skills and abilities.
