Poetry by Amy Williamson
words    keep    crawling
gurgling              screams
clawing    up    the   back
of      my     throat     they
can’t      get      past    my
teeth                    snarling
through       smiles      no
one      can    see    every
vicious            poisonous
flower      on  my tongue
i’m   trying   to   dig   you
out       of    my     system
you     grew    too    deep
i      can’t     uproot    you
without           destroying
the      foundation   i was
built                          upon
your       namesake    sits
in      the    pit     of     my
belly          warm       and
smooth       and   broken
