Orlando Caraballo is an inter-disciplinary artist based in Cleveland, OH. Trained in both Drawing & Printmaking and deeply informed by his love for music and poetry, his artwork is rooted in imaginative world-building that investigates the relationship between personal and cultural identity as a Puerto Rican growing up in the Midwest and the (re)claiming of his agency through love, grief as its byproduct, and the understanding of history’s complex impact on the world we live in. His portfolio ranges from works on paper to scalable installations and performance art, following the ancestral tradition of storytelling to preserve and pass forward consejos, or wisdoms.
Also an arts administrator, Orlando serves as the Director of Artist Experiences at the Cleveland Print Room, co-creating invitational opportunities and providing resources for artists to cultivate community and holistic creative practices through salons, residencies, fellowships, and focus groups. |
